Rude Food is an organisation that works to reduce food waste through:
Global citizen education ,
Food surplus catering services,
Development of infrastructure and interventions.
Rude Food has operated for over 8 years as ‘’Sweden's first food surplus catering service” & has seen how the food waste reduction challenge has been approached by public & private sectors over time. Our goal is to return edible fruits & vegetables, which otherwise would have been thrown away, back into the food supply chain while providing knowledge & resources to help global citizens reduce their individual waste profiles. This will be done by creating a digital platform that serves as a software interface that others can plug into & innovate from.
We’ll connect different role players to create production loops that enable edible food to be eaten or used instead of thrown away. Using unutilised after hours per location capacity from schools or other kitchens in the city & bike-riding citizens to transport the resources between partners is a unique aspect of our solution.
